HISTORIC FISHING VILLAGES

Kingsand and Cawsand - With narrow twisting streets, sheltered bay these two adjacent villages are worth visiting. There is also an excellent sandy beach. You can catch a small ferry direct to the Barbican in Plymouth. The trip takes about 30 minutes and you pass by Drake Island and Plymouth Hoe before mooring at the Historic Mayflower Steps.

This is the place where the Pilgrim Fathers set sail to a new life in America.

Polperro - Lovely Cornish fishing village. Because of the narrow streets you have to leave your car outside the village and either walk down of ride on a horse drawn coach. A "real" fishing village.

Looe- Shark fishing centre of Europe. Heavily commercialised but a good place to take a boat trip along the coast or to rent a boat and go fishing for the day. A bit touristy but still worth a visit and a walk along its famous "banjo" pier.
